SAVIOR`S HOME MINISTRY  - Make a donation Lindenhurst was honored to be visited by Valeriy and Lora Pavlenko and were taken by the work they have done and what they have accomplished.  They started the only Kiwanis Club in Kiev, Ukraine.  The copy below is from a news letter we just received and found it as upseting as inspiring.  They need our help... Work with the homeless children
	Children as young as four years old live on the street alone. Many of these children have been abandoned by their parents. Some have run away from orphanages so horrible that life on the street is seen as a better alternative. The youth team bought simple food to give to street children, then went out in the streets. We provided bread, condensed milk and little sausage. This meager meal was received as if it were the finest cuisine a restaurant had to offer. Even more than the food, the team shared the love of Christ with these kids.  Nearly all of the kids sniff glue to escape in their minds for a while. At first, they hid it from us, but we knew. The smell of the glue is overpowering. They keep it insZide their jackets and pull the collar up to take a huff. Their eyes betray them. They are glassy and the pupils dialated.
	Every one of the girls we have met so far has been a prostitute at some time. Several are active daily. Remember their ages? NINE to SEVENTEEN! A few of them have stopped because of our counselling or their own shame and pain, but others continue to sell their bodies. For an average of $10 a person can abuse these girls any way imaginable for an hour. There is a 14 yr old girl with eyes that betray her lost innocence. There is simply no child left.
Children`s Home We attend the children`s home in Makarov town, it`s 54 km from Kiev. There are 67 or so kids there from about 3 to 15 years old. We all fell in love with them. The place itself is cold, dirty, crowded and awful. Even though temperatures average well below freezing during the harsh winters. But the children are so full of life. Each of us had a couple of children latch on to us while we were there.
Vanya never let go of my arm until I had to get into the van. They stood at the gate until we were out of sight. One girl Luba looked me in the eyes and asked when I would return. I promised to come back. That is a promise I intend to keep. Any or all of you are invited to come with me. Rehabilitation center for homeless children We are engaged in our work with the rehabilitation center for homeless children. This center still under repair and we make as far as probably repair. The state programs has not works. For now we have no any money which they to us promised for repair of center. I pray that in September we open this center.
	Our volunteers will make a lot of work for children. We shall teach children to write, read, train in music, singing. Please pray for us, because we need a monthly financial support. We cannot do this ministry efficiently and often.
Our needs: 1. We have plan to make a summer camp for 20 children and teenagers in August. For this purpose we shall use the house at the village which we shall rent. 2. We shall make special programs on the territory of children's homes for one week. We shall bring meal, to play with children, to go with to the river. 3. Also we want to make a picnic for homeless children. 4. We want to go to the West part of Ukraine taking 20 teenagers who help us with ministry and spend one week at mountains.
