Lindenhurst represented at RYLA! |
Kelly Drummond visited our club recently to discuss her experience in attending the RYLA event. Kelly stated that "it sounds corny, but it really changed my life".
Lindenhurst Highschool students, Sarah Boujida and Kelly Drummond, have been selected to represent our community at the upcoming RYLA convention March 25-26.
With sponsorship from our Rotary club and through the participation of Shannon Trude, guidance counselor at the high school, this year we were able to partner with fellow Rotarian and Director of the RYLA program, Linda Kerr to submit applications for these very special students.
RYLA is a unique leadership program that teaches our youth valuable lessons in acceptance, diversity, trust and problem resolution. Only two student per highschool in district 7260 are selected to participate each year. We are very excited to sponsor Sarah and Kelly.
Following their RYLA experience, we look forward to having these young ladies speak to us at an upcoming meeting. |
